Sustainability

We believe in doing our bit to help conserve and preserve the environment in which we all live by reducing our environmental impact and lowering our carbon footprint where we can. Here are just some of the initiatives we have implemented at Mechanicare Noosa:

Solar Power

We utilise solar power electricity in our workshop. This greatly reduces the impact that we have whilst doing business as we generate our own power. The additional power that we generate on our roof is sent back to the grid to be used to power other local businesses and homes, reducing the need for fossil fuel power consumption.

Cloud-based software

By implementing cloud-based software for day-to-day operations we have dramatically reduced our paper and electricity consumption.

Cardboard, Bottle and Can Recycling

We are committed to reducing waste and recycling as much as we possibly can from our workshop. All packaging that comes into our workshop is carefully collected, separated and recycled where possible.

Tyre Recycling

Used tyres are disposed of via a Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA) founding member retailer. The TSA was formed to implement the national Tyre Product Stewardship Scheme to promote the development of viable markets for end-of-life tyres. This has the multiple benefits of transforming a waste product into a useful commodity, creating new industries and employment opportunities while also reducing the environmental harm caused by the illegal dumping of old tyres.

Fluid Recycling

Where possible, fluids that we replace in our workshop, including engine oil, are collected and recycled.

Metal Recycling

Scrap metals from old parts are collected by metal recyclers, where they are melted down and turned into new metal products.

Battery Recycling

Used car and truck batteries are collected by battery recyclers, where they are disassembled and melted down and turned into new batteries (up to 98% of a lead acid battery can be reclaimed through recycling!)

Hybrid and EV 

We have invested heavily in training to ensure we have the necessary skills and certification to service and maintain Hybrid and EV vehicles. By providing customers with access to a local business that is capable of servicing and maintaining these vehicles together we further reduce the environmental impact of vehicles by reducing travel to larger city centres to have work performed.
